Personal Information

Born 1990 in Solingen

Julian Schmidt-Engler studied life sciences with specialisation on biochemistry at the University of Potsdam. Following a research project at the University College London he decided to come to Frankfurt am Main for his master studies in biophysics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University. During that time, he also worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in the field of data analysis.

In continuation of his studies, he pursued a doctorate at the Institute of Physics at Goethe University in the field of ultrafast spectroscopy, where he was able to gain in-depth knowledge in the areas of optics, measurement technology and software development. Upon completion of his doctorate, he started his training as a patent attorney at KEIL & SCHAAFHAUSEN. Further, he is a member of the German Physical Society (DPG) and the Physikalischer Verein.
